Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In this unit I learned that teaching has a lot ore to do with encouragement and elicitation than the transmission of knowledge itself. Being a rational type, I tend to go for the grammar - translation approach, but if the students feel intimidated or confused, this method is completely useless. To make sure younger learners understand what's going on in the class, I and other teachers were speaking a lot of native languages. I realized that is completely a mistake. I will try to speak only English from next week so that students will try to think what teachers are saying on their own.Another interest lesson for you to learn and also to apply in the future classes that one will going to teach. You never have to stop learn new things or new techniques to make your teaching skills better, be more accurate in the classroom, but without be boring and loose the students interest.
