This unit highlighted to me that some of the present tenses can have future implications and can thus be used as kinds of future tenses. This may complicate keeping these tenses straight for new English language learners. This unit has also highlighted to me how many little words make up these tenses and how easily they can get confusing for English language learners. Many of the frequent mistakes involve omitting small words that convey meaning about the tense of the sentence. I found it difficult to describe why these sentences were grammatically incorrect as I have not had to learn English in this way. It will be important to review grammatical structures and typical mistakes before a lesson in order to be sure that I can identify why a sentence is grammatically incorrect.
