Unit 1 was a great start to the course and becoming an English teacher because it gave great examples of how to be a good teacher and help your students be good learners. I thought the section discussing the roles of a teacher was very helpful in that it showed how dynamic you must be as a teacher to be able to not only control your classroom but also prompt and facilitate learning while also giving accurate feedback. I also liked learning of the different levels of language and differences between adult and young students. This was a very important topic as you should know the motivation level, potential behavioral issues, nervousness, previous learning experiences and language awareness of your specific age group of students. Overall, I learned a lot from this first unit.
