This unit went over the different groups an ESL teacher may encounter, such as children, multilingual groups, business people, or beginner classes. While each group has various specific needs, but for each situation a teacher needs to keep up their energy and the aura of the whole class. For children, their attention span is short and activities have to change often. For business learners, they have spent all day at work and are most likely exhausted and have no genuine interest in language learning. For every group you teach, you have to also consider the individual needs and levels of students and balance out keeping their interest and maintaining their skill level. In multilingual groups, it is an advantage that they can only communicate in the common language of English, but they also have varying needs depending on their background.
