Teaching aids are great and often makes learning more interesting. Boards (black or white) are great for helping to focus students' attention on a particular topic. It is for this reason that great penmanship and accuracy is important, as students tend to write down everything that is noted on a board. It is important that the teacher make a board plan on paper prior to using the board to help ensure maximum benefit for the student. There should always be a back up plan if an electronic board is used, as this is technology and could malfunction at times.
