I can?t ever remember a teacher or anyone ever explaining what those were in a dictionary before. Once with a grasp on what each sound symbol the indicator stands for, it will make it much easier to decipher what a word is supposed to sound like.Reading and listening require receptive language skills. These skills are vital for second language fluency. Teachers should use a variety of texts, including articles, stories, interviews, and videos, to engage student interest. Teaching topics that are of interest to the students encourages participation. This also offers a great opportunity for the teacher to share his or her culture through selected texts.
