The theme of this unit is evaluation and testing. Throughout the unit, different kinds of tests are analyzed and explained: placements tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practices tests, general external examinations and Cambridge assessment. The explanations in the unit are very helpful because they give you concise definitions about every kind of test. Now that I’ve learnt about the main categories of them, I can clearly distinguish what type of examination I am dealing with when testing my students at work. Finally, the parts devoted to general external examinations and Cambridge assessment are extremely useful because you get a broad overview on the most important exams available.
