This unit covers teaching special groups. In the field of teaching english as a foreign language, teachers may find themselves teaching a variety of groups. Beginner groups can be divided into several categories. There are: absolute beginners, false beginners, adult beginners, young beginners and beginners that don't have experience with the roman alphabet. Teachers may not even be teaching a group at all. One to one lessons come with their own unique situations. Then there are children. Many teachers claim that the most rewarding times in their careers are when they are teaching children. From there the unit covers teaching business English. Business English teachers can either give, one to one lessons, lessons at a specific company or may work in a schools with business student as learners. Finally in a country where the native language is English, teachers may have a multilingual classes which have many advantages as the only common language for the students to speak is English. After studying this unit I feel the urge to try different types of teaching groups. As of right now my only experience is with children, and I must say it is very rewarding. However I would like to try my hand at teaching adults in different groups. I learned some helpful tips to elicit what adults need. I feel like my methodology has always been fun, so I wonder how that could play into teaching adults. The unit ultimately gave me much to think about.
