There are a lot of activities that can be done in the classroom to encourage speaking, and they could be controlled, guided or creative. Writing is a skill that is usually neglected in the classroom but it is a very important part of language learning. Creative writing engages students and allows them to incorporate language they have learnt in their writing. Games should also be incorporated in class to makes class fun and can provide useful controlled practice. Many conventional and unconventional games can be adapted for the purpose of language learning.
