Unit 12 covered productive skills such as speaking and writing. The unit went over definitions of the skills, sub-skills, and how to go about teaching them in a classroom setting in an engaging way. The video for the unit was the first half of the video that covered receptive skills, so while receptive skills were unit 11, productive skills were actually taught first if you began with the video. The first part of the unit covers the importance of these skills when it comes to the comprehension of a language and then went on with prime examples of lessons and games that could be used to teach a class. While some parts of the unit were new, like setting up a lesson, other parts felt a little more obvious. For example, that spelling and punctuation is an important part of English writing. While it is true that there are other languages that do not include punctuation, making a cultural barrier when learning it. For the most part the unit was quite straightforward and comprehensive.
