This unit involved me watching two videos of a lesson being given by a teacher. In the first the teacher displayed very poor attitude and teaching techniques to his class resulting in a poor teaching experience, in addition it was self evident that the students very much didn't enjoy the lesson and as a result more than likely (and very understandably) lost all respect they had for the teacher. In direct comparison the second lesson shown was infinity better received by the class in no small part due to the much better attitude and techniques displayed by the teacher who approached the lesson in a much more friendly and engaging manner.
In conclusion the unit taught me the drastic effect a teacher's attitude and approach to lessons can have on the overall success or failure of a lesson itself. It taught me a successful lesson requires the teacher to have a positive attitude, clear communication skills as well as the ability to be engaging to the students under his/her tutelage.
