In this unit, it talked about the productive skills with speaking and writing. Speaking and writing are important for learning a new language. If knowing how to read but not be able to speak the language, it will be hard to communication. I remembered when I was in High School, was learning a new language. The teacher in class always thinks of new games, or new songs relate to the language for us to learn. I remembered we all learned really fast at that time.Unit 6 is an overview of the form and uses of past tenses: simple past, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. The unit gives a good breakdown of the issues most students face when attempting to differentiate between these tenses. However, I found the activate stage teaching ideas the most helpful. As the unit explains, students have difficulty understanding the uses of these tenses and these activities help make this explanation simpler.
