When teaching individual students, use many activities from the course book, find out the student's specific language problems, maximize the student's interests and experience, and arrange a combination of what the student wants and what you think they need. When teaching children, frequently change activities to keep their interest. Business English clients can vary in age, are often tired from the workday, may be of different level, and may not even want to learn English. Multilingual classes are advantageous because their only shared language in English. Monolingual classes are advantageous because the students will likely all have the same difficulties.
