This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 9 talks about the productive skills of speaking and writing, as well as considerations teachers have to keep in mind when they are working with those productive skills. I understand that both skills are equally important, but writing is a bit more difficult because written work tends to be more professional in the classroom setting. One must consider the students' spelling, handwriting, and punctuation levels. On the other hand, speaking activities can be cleared up whenever students make mistake, or in most cases, students can understand the gist of what they are trying to communicate. From my personal experience, whenever I asked students to work on activities that dealt with speaking Spanish, usually the students who obviously read and came to class prepared had no trouble with those activities, but the students who did not study struggled with spoken activities, and their mistakes could not be cleared up.
