In this unit, extra emphasis is put on the use of course material books. As it provides a pre-existing and trialed system. However it does encourage a TEFL teacher to embrace the course material that is available but not to shy away from their own adaptations of lessons, if said adaptations will be beneficial to the students. Such adaptations can be things such as changing the example of an exercise to one that would be of a greater interest to the students, or perhaps adding a few extra vocal speech drills would prove beneficiary to students in terms of there pronunciation and sentence structure when participating in group activities or demonstrations.
No class is the same, each filled with different individuals and different thought processes. It is up to the teacher to take the \"guidelines\" from the course material and adapt or change it in order to have a larger impact on the individuals in the class.
