Unit 10 Evaluation and Testing
Students’ assessment is very important in teaching –learning process, thus this unit discussed the different types of testing and evaluation and their corresponding significance. Each kind of test has its own special purpose or objectives. Placement test for instance is often use at the beginning of the school year to determine the proper level of each student according to their language ability. On the other hand practice test is important in preparation for an external examination. However, Progress test should be used to assess the learning that takes place with each student and to check their level of retention. The unit discussed also the General External Examinations such as TOEFL,IELTS and TOEIC. Cambridge assessment were also given emphasis. Through this unit I have learned the importance of each test and how to properly evaluate my students.
