The present tense includes the present simple, the present continuous, the present perfect, the present perfect continuous. There are some usages of the present continuous: 1. To talk about an action that is in progress at the time of speaking. 2. To talk about a temporary action that is not necessarily in progress at the time of speaking. 3. To emphasize very frequent actions. 4. Background events in a present story. 5. To describe developing situations. 6. To refer to a regular action around a point of time.Lesson planning and a positive attitude struck me as the most obvious factors that affected the quality of the lesson in each video. A smiling, fun and kind teacher will definitely influence the mood and energy of the class so as to produce a great lesson (versus the tired, down-trodden teacher in Video 1). Lesson planning was an obvious method utilized in both lesson (albeit with more success in the Video 2.), as the teacher has print out worksheets, picture props and drawings with which he engages the class.
