This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This Unit is really challenging for me because it requires my mind to remember the types of methods in teaching and how it is used in a classroom. However, It is also a good thing for me because I learned which Methods I will going to use and when will I use them although I need to familiarize it further. I also learned from this Unit that our brain has this so called 'LH and RH' which are new vocabulary words for me . I know that learning is a continous process that's why I will be looking forward in discovering new things in teaching English. This lesson is very important to my development as a teacher because I (and I would venture that most native English speakers also fall into this category) have never really been taught the material and think about it very little when using the language itself. In this respect, being a native English speaker alone is not very good preparation to teach this material. I usually do not think about the location of the sounds being produced when I speak. I also had not been previously taught many of the symbols that represent the different sounds.
