I learnt about the four basic skills in any language. These are receptive skills-reading and listening and productive skills-speaking and writing. I understand that all are equally important when dealing with teaching and learning and also in our everyday life as we interact with people. As individuals, we learn at different place and time and most persons are aware of this as they go about in understanding themselves in how they learn effectively.In this unit I learned the value of proper planning techniques. Most importantly, know the positive side of errors. When a student makes errors it shows that they are trying as opposed to be fearful of language use. Experimentation with language and making errors is a part of the learning process. Self-correction is beneficial to know that the student is able to recognize their mistake and know what kind of error it is and where the error lies.
