In this third unit, I learned about all the different theories, methods, techniques and strategies in English teaching.All of them are useful and effective in their own way.
The teacher has a spectrum of roles in these methodologies ranging from language model and commander of classroom activities in systems like Grammar Translation and Total Physical Response to background facilitator and classroom colleague in Communicative Language Teaching and all the way to minimally present in the Silent Way. In a similar manner, the role of the student may vary from that of a passive recipient in Grammar Translation, a childlike follower in Total Physical Response.
The Teacher's personality the culture of the students, their level of the language and their needs will all play an important part in the way to apply to teach them.
