In this unit the focus is teaching all necessary about receptive skills. Receptive skills, reading and listening, are equally important. We read and listen for a purpose or for simple pleasure. A teacher should be able to know how to manage these steps during a class. First she should pre-teach the necessary vocabulary for the students to be able to follow and comprehend the text, for later to elaborate a speech by using the same vocabulary with confidence.Vocabulary words are primary functions of an educational language class. This unit has taught me what I should and should not consider when including new vocabulary in my classes. It's worth considering that too much lecture is detrimental to their learning of new words and structures; the unit will aid me in deciding which language functions I should or shouldn't include in my lessons, ensuring effective learning and oral English for my students this term.
