This unit was very interesting. It affirmed some philosophies of my practice and taught me a lot too. I was able to reflect on the various roles I have as a teacher such as managing, prompting and facilitating my students. It also reminded me of qualities I need to possess if I wish to consider myself a good teacher; being patient and kind, have a love for what I do and knowing my students' strengths and weaknesses. This knowledge should guide my instruction.I have taught at different levels and so a knowledge of the needs students at different learning levels is important. Students' experiences with learning and in particular,learning a second language, has a lot to do with habits formed and attitude towards the language and so must be considered in practice.
I enjoyed this unit and look forward to the others.
