Nice review of the past tenses. However, I found question #7 to be a little confusing because of the presence of the time clause \"When I arrived\" (which should be followed by a comma to use correct punctuation). Because there are two actions, it leads one to think (rightly) that one action occurred before the other. In this case, \"I arrived\" first, and then \"he began to cook.\" But I can see someone mistakenly entering #4 as the answer. It's only when you remember that you must enter the meaning of the capitalized verb that you are forced to answer \"completed past action,\" but it is a bit confusing.
