From my personal experience, phonology is one of the most difficult unit so far. We have to remember all of the phonemes and understand how to produce the sound based on the symbol. We might not get it right the first time, but I do believe that we need to keep on practicing about it. Stress and intonation are two important matters as well. Having the wrong intonation for a statement could lead to trouble. People could differ the meaning of our statement if we state it with different intonation. And if we stress a wrong part of the sentence, well people might get the wrong focus in the sentence. Overall it is a very important lesson indeed, and teachers always need to harness this skill.
