When I was studying Japanese in university I often had personal issues with the lessons geared towards having us speak in class. This was due to confidence issues that came from self-imposed peer intimidation and a fear of making mistakes. As such I had issues with these sort of lessons that took me years to properly rise past. However, because of these experiences I am determined to help my future students avoid similar pitfalls. While there isn't much information given in this chapter on how to encourage students due to the issue being fairly individual, the giving of more positive feedback than negative resounded with me, and is evoking other thoughts and possible methods to help.
