Unit 12 focused on the productive skills of speaking and writing. I found the distinction between accuracy (producing correct language) and fluency (being creative with language) to be interesting. The example lessons and games were especially helpful and I hope to incorporate some of them into my own teaching. My own students are extremely hesitant to speak and seem to prefer writing activities so my personal teaching challenge is to encourage more interaction. Although I do a lot of pair-work and group-work in class, I probably am guilty of not giving my students enough time to get comfortable with the material. I want to make sure I use the â€œ3 by 3â€ drill technique mentioned in the text for future lessons.
