Unit 5 has been the most beneficial yet by explaining many facets of classroom management, which appears to me to be half the battle of teaching. Without control of your classroom how can you expect to teachieve a thing?
The unit began by diving into appropriate eye contact, gestures and voice, all of which help clarify many things to a classroom. Apart from how to carry yourself in front of your students, I learned the pros and cons of grouping, pairing, and individual work of students.
Classroom arrangement taught me the varying ways of how to setup a classroom and the different purposes and uses for each, as well as how to reduce board writing time, and how to give individual attention to students. The advantages and disadvantages of teacher talk time were explained and how to reduce it, and finally I was given ways to establish rapport amongst my future students.
