This unit provided a wonderful contrast between an unsuccessful lesson and a successful one. It was painful to watch the first video, but sadly many classrooms may look very similar to this one. During the second video, I was so engaged that I was taking notes myself! First of all, it was amazing how the cheerful demeanor of the instructor in video #2 transformed the class. The students were immediately engaged and seemed to feel more comfortable taking risks - resulting in a more dynamic session. The instructor also did a great job of introducing each segment and modeling everything he wanted the students to do so that they clearly understood the deliverables.
