This unit covered modal verbs, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modal verbs add meaning to the main verb and include, but is not limited to: could, may, might, must, should, need to, ought to etc. Modal verbs do not change with the person and are used to express different degrees of formality. The unit presented the modal verbs, their most comment and rare uses as well as example usages in past. present and future tense. Furthermore, the unit presented the active verse passive voice used in English language, relative clauses and phrasal verbs. There are three different types of phrasal verbs: Type 1 intransitive, Type 2 transitive separable, Type 3 transitive inseparable.
