The unit discussed why it might be important to create a lesson plan. Especially for inexperienced teachers, it can help you structure your class in advance, schedule the timing of activities and keep track of the purpose of your class and how you're going to achieve it. It also helps documenting your class for future reference. An example 'lesson plan' sheet was provided, as well as an empty form I could use. The different phases of the a lesson were discussed again. In the last part of this course I have become more competent in detecting some problems which I may come across in the classroom.I have learnt some of the best ways to start a new course, as well as how to deal with large classes, reluctant students, multi-level classes and listening issues. Unit 20 also included several warmer ideas to get a class started and I have learnt that it is outmost important to incorporate activities that establish rapport in a first lesson.
