Unit 6 sends the fledgling teacher on her way, literally, into the world of teaching English as a foreign language. Reminders of the importance of knowing the country's history, statistics, geography, and most important, folkways, attempt to prepare me to become a beloved member of the community rather than an ill-fitting foreigner. Information about how to apply for overseas employment is enlightening and sometimes surprising, i.e., resumes and cover letters may need to be a bit more candid than we are accustomed to if we are from a country with \"politically correct\" attitudes toward admitting birthdays or marital status. Finally, a webliography adds to our professional library of helpful sites, books, reference material, etc.
One last thought--I especially enjoyed the challenging task of researching unique problems one might experience while teaching in particular countries. Fascinating! Thank you again for a wonderful learning experience.
