In this unit we discussed the two productive skills, writing and speaking. We also learned about the difference between accuracy and fluency.
Different activities and exercises have more or less use when teaching accuracy versus fluency.
In an accuracy exercise, a teacher might be very fast to correct mistakes, but this approach is not effective for a fluency exercise.
From this unit I feel I have learned about practical methods for teaching speaking and writing, and different strategies for teaching accuracy and fluency.This unit describes about teaching productivity skills: speaking and writing, which are used to communicate effectively. I have learnt that accuracy and fluency carry equal importance. I have also learnt that it is important for the teacher to generate interest and create comfortable atmosphere to the students to increase their speaking time. Writing has many differences compared to speaking, like vocabulary in writing is more formal than speaking. I have also understood the importance of game activities in the classroom.
