Past tenses allow speakers to say and tell about an action that happened in the past. It is important to know and to understand which auxiliaries ant their forms that help speakers to form sentences in past tense. Tense formation is important, but also when to use the different past tenses and how to combine them in more complex sentences. Understanding past tense dynamics will allow us as teacher to minimize and plan lessons oriented on common mistakes. Finally, it is important to highlight how important is to know and practice irregular verbs due to the fact that they have their own verb formation.
