There are two voices used in English language: active and passive voice. In the passive, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb. The focus in these voices is different. Only transitive verbs are used in the passive. A clause is a group of words contaning a subject and a verb. There are 3 categories of clauses. An independent clause ia a complete sentence. A dependent clause must be connected to an independent clause. A relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies the noun. There are 3 types of phrasal verbs: intransitive, transitive seperable and transitive inseparable.
