This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered phrasal verbs, modal verbs, relative clauses, and the passive voice. It was really good to learn and begin to understand these details of grammar that non-native speakers may have trouble with. I learned that some good ways to teach these constructs are by using role plays, fill in the blank exercises, and just trying to use the language often so that students will be hearing it and be able to get a feel for what sounds correct. This lesson provided me some general guidelines and an introduction to the productive skills when using the English language: speaking and writing. This lesson went over some themes such as: don't interrupt students when they are engaging in a fluency based activity because that will stifle their creativity.
This lesson also exposed me to another straight arrow esa lesson plan which is always good for me so that I can get used to their structure.
