I was able to implement what I learned from this course immediately, as I current teach english in another country. It was also a helpful reminder with me lesson planning, I realized I had strayed away from ESA forms, and now make sure to always begin my lessons with an engaging activity.
Furthermore, I have learned a great deal of grammar, most of which was the first time I was exposed to it. We definitely didn’t learn that growing up and my job is a conversation teacher, and even when I do use the textbook provided we don’t focus on grammar. I can’t say I developed an appreciate for it, but with all those lessons you’ve returned to me, as well as all the outside research I had to do in order to clarify the extremely brief explanations in the TESOL course, I at least I know I will never forget all the types of tenses.
I plan on using the TESOL certificate to as both a resume’ bump and as an opportunity for me to teach new places. I hope to one day teach in Europe (although I am aware they prefer CELTA) and eventually return and teach in America.
