In this unit, we learned about methods to get students motivated and interested in the productive skills, speaking and writing. There are many creative activities a teacher can use to elicit personal interest from students when it comes to speaking and writing. With speaking, there are many opportunities for student interactions. With writing, it is one of the most overlooked skills when teaching the English language so it is important to make sure the students have time in the classroom to write. It is also very important to keep them interested in what they are writing about. There are so many ways to keep students interested, such as games like Hangman. However, it is important to not resort to games as a teacher in order to reduce teacher preparation time.
