This unit covered what I consider to be the most important material so far. The proper production of sounds and the proper use of tone, intonation, and stress when verbally articulating an idea are critical parts of fluency. This can also be exceptionally difficult to learn or teach; especially when dealing with sounds that do not appear in the language learners' native language. In order to properly produce the sounds that occur in a language like how a native speaker would produce the sounds, students are required to use their speech organs in an identical way; and this may be unnatural for them. This lesson provided key information that is foundational for effectively teaching proper pronunciation.
