TEFL TESOL Combined Courses - Teaching Practice

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

While past tense is somewhat easier to teach, it becomes difficult when teaching the irregular simple past verbs. With games and such a student can be taught to memorize those irregular verbs and thus simplifying the task. Once this is done then the student can learn the tenses and there correct usages. This unit provides a good introduction to the use of course books, which is probably something to explore more in depth. The important thing seems to be to keep course materials flexible and not follow them rigidly. Course books are surely helpful in planning out lessons loosely and for finding exercises.
