What is TESOL?

TESOL (also known as TEFL) is the acronym for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and taking a TESOL training course is your passport to a world of travel and adventure teaching English abroad. There is a tremendous demand for TESOL qualified teachers worldwide with job opportunities in just about every country around the world.

What TESOL courses and qualifications are available?

The most common type of qualification required to teach English abroad is a TESOL certificate. There are a wide variety of TESOL courses available, ranging from 4-week in-class TESOL courses with TEFL International, to TESOL courses studied online. It is even possible to combine online study with one or two weeks of in-class training. In addition to standard TESOL certificate courses there are also more specialized courses such as our Certificate in Teaching Business English and our Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners. We even offer an advanced Diploma in TESOL course online.

Who can take a TESOL course?

TESOL courses are open to all native-English speakers and all non-native speakers who are fluent in English. We do not require any previous teaching experience, nor teaching qualifications.
